Islam: Child Marriage and Prepubescent girls

It has come to my attention over the last few years, that average people are incredibly ignorant to what the religion of Islam teaches and allows within its walls. Because of this ignorance, there has been a false picture painted in the media of Islamic people’s migrating to the west and making a significant influence on policy and culture.

In response, I have decided it is time to expose the truth about Islam and attempt to bring this information to those uneducated to prevent a total takeover in America. In this article I will provide direct quotes from top Islamic sources which teach prepubescent child marriage, and child sexual relations is approved and encouraged within Islam.

Scholars on the permittance of child marriage:

Ibn Abdul Barr: ” Scholars have unanimously agreed that a father can marry off his minor daughter without consulting her”

Ibn Taymiyya: “…is also clear that it is possible to compel a female minor to marry”

Ibn Qudama: “the possibility of sex with a prepubescent female depends on her condition and what she can tolerate”

Aisha

The so called “prophet” Muhammed married a young girl named Aisha at the age of 6 who was still playing with dolls, and consummated the marriage at age 9.

Some Islamic apologists will respond to this claim by saying a few different things: “She was actually 18!”, claiming that the ages given by the following hadith are miscalculated by translators. “BUT Rebekah was THREE!”, claiming that Rebekah in the Bible was three years old when she was married. Not only is there no evidence of this Anywhere, but it would not he a problem for Christian theology even if it did happen. We believe our prophets and leaders can and do sin.

Here are the sources. Make your own judgement.

Shahih al-Bukhari 5133-5134: Narrated `Aisha: “the Prophet (ﷺ) married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years”…”the Prophet (ﷺ) married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that `Aisha remained with the Prophet (ﷺ) for nine years “

Sahih al-Bukhari 5158: Narrated ‘Urwa: “The Prophet (ﷺ) wrote the (marriage contract) with `Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death).”

Sahih Muslim Book 8, Hadith Number 3310-3311: “Chapter: It is permissible for the father to give the hand of his daughter in marriage even when she is not fully grown up….Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah’s Apostle (May peace be upon him) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old.”…‘Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah’s Apostle (May peace be upon him) married her when she was seven years old, and he was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her; and when he (the Holy Prophet) died she was eighteen years old.”

The Iddah (Waiting period)

This period of “waiting” is particularly for when a Muslim has married a woman and consummated the marriage, but now wants to divorce the woman.

Below, we will see that there are conditions in place for a Muslim man to marry a prepubescent child, consummate that marriage, and then divorce her.

Quran65:4: “As for your women past the age of menstruation, in case you do not know, their waiting period is three months, and those who have not menstruated as well. As for those who are pregnant, their waiting period ends with delivery. And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make their matters easy for them. This is the commandment of Allah, which He has revealed to you.”

Scholars on the above referenced verses

Al-Talaq: “In the case of women who have stopped menstruating for good on account of advanced age, or due to some disease etc. their “iddah is three months instead of three menstrual cycles. The same is the “iddah of young women who have not yet started menstruating on account of being under age. “

Ibn-Kathir: “And that is the one whose menstruation has stopped due to her older age. Her Iddah is three months instead of the three monthly cycles for those who menstruate, which is based upon the Ayah in (Surat) Al-Baqarah. see 2:228 The same for the young, who have not reached the years of menstruation. Their Iddah is three months like those in menopause. This is the meaning of His saying”

Al-Tabari: “And for those who haven’t menstruated” means: The same applies to the Iddah for girls who do not menstruate because they are too young, if their husbands divorce them after consummating the marriage with them.”

Ibn Abbas: “another man asked: “O Messenger of Allah! “What about the waiting period of those who do not have menstruation because they are too young?” (along with those who have it not) because of young age, their waiting period is three months.”

Al-Jalalayn by Al-Mahalli & Al-Suyuti: “And [as for] those of your women who (read allā’ī or allā’i in both instances) no longer expect to menstruate, if you have any doubts, about their waiting period, their prescribed [waiting] period shall be three months, and [also for] those who have not yet menstruated, because of their young age, their period shall [also] be three months

Al-Zamakhshari: “and for those how have not menstruated yet”, these are the small female children.

Abu Hayyan: And this much is clear: Those “who have not yet menstruated” includes those who have not menstruated due to their young age.

These are just a few sources which will show us that indeed, Islam allows and gives guidelines for child sexual relations and marriage. See the below links to investigate further.
